[nbn시사경제] 홍성훈 기자 = 코로나19(신종 코로나 바이러스 감염증)에 대한 전세계적인 확산에 따라 오는 3월 10일부터 예정되었던 홍콩필하모닉의 내한공연도 결국 연기되었다.
홍콩필하모닉의 이번 아시아투어는 오는 3월 5일부터 도쿄, 오사카, 서울, 대전, 광주, 춘천로 이어질 예정이었다.
홍콩필은 지난 1월 말경 중국 이외의 지역까지는 확산되지 않은 상황이어서 본 투어 진행에 대한 강력한 의지를 한국과 일본에 피력한 바 있다. 하지만, 홍콩필하모닉의 대표를 맡고 있는 베네딕트 포어(Benedikt Alexander Fohr)는 2월 19일 이메일을 통해 “이번 한국과 일본 투어를 연기할 수 밖에 없는 상황에 대해서 깊이 유감이다. 홍콩필의 예술감독이자 홍콩의 문화홍보대사인 얍 판 츠베덴은 이번 투어에 대해 매우 기대가 컸었다. 하지만 우리 단원과 스텝, 관객들의 건강이 그 무엇보다 우선이기에 이번 결정을 내릴 수 밖에 없었다. 우리는 전세계가 현재의 상황에서 어서 빨리 극복하기를 기원하며 홍콩필은 본 투어의 일정을 최대한 빨리 새로 잡기 위해 최선의 노력을 다할 것이다”고 밝혔다. 본 공연의 주최사인 프레스토아트는 “홍콩필 측과 다시 투어 일정을 협의하고 있는 중이다. 연내에 내한공연을 진행할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Postponement of the HK Phil Japan and Korea Tour March 2020 In view of current developments related to the coronavirus outbreak, along with discussions with our tour presenters, performing venues and related partners, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) has decided to postpone its tour to Japan and Korea to a later time of the year. The tour was originally scheduled for 5 March to 13 March 2020 in Osaka Symphony Hall, Tokyo Suntory Hall, Deajeon Arts Center, Seoul Arts Center, Chuncheon Culture Center, and Gwangju Centre & Art Center. New dates for the tour will be announced shortly. Mr Benedikt Fohr, Chief Executive of the HK Phil, says, “It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to postpone its tour to Japan and Korea. As a cultural ambassador for Hong Kong, the orchestra and its Music Director Jaap van Zweden were very looking forward to performing for audiences in Japan and Korea. However, we also put the health and well-being of our players, staff and audiences at the forefront of our priorities. We sincerely hope that the orchestra’s home city, as well as other parts of the world, will recover soon and overcome the current challenging situation. Meanwhile, the HK Phil team is making every effort to schedule new dates for this tour. 한편,홍콩필하모닉은 아시아 단체로는 최초로 세계 최고 권위의 클래식 전문지 ‘그라모폰’이 선정한 “2019 올해의 오케스트라(Orchestra of the year)”로 선정된 명문악으로 오는 3월 서울, 대전, 광주, 춘천 4개도시에서 내한공연투어가 예정되어 있었다.
